HOUSE EXTENSION SHEFFIELD

A basement conversion and house extension

This extension and basement conversion to a formerly bland 1960’s bungalow on a superb site in the Peak District National Park provides  extensive additional residential accommodation which also has potential to be a self contained ‘granny flat’ or guest suite if required. Additionally a roof terrace takes advantage of superb views over the Hope Valley. We feel that, in addition the extra accommodation provided the appearance of the building is greatly enhance by this scheme.

House extension to a basement

This is an interesting addition to an existing circa 1890 semi detached property in West Sheffield which was previously converted into two self-contained apartments. This phase was a conversion of the existing cellars to form a further apartment and included the excavation of the garden; the whole of the new front elevation pictured here was previously below ground! We are now looking forward to the implementation of our scheme to convert the roof space to form a fourth self-contained unit.

An house extension : first floor level

This upper storey side extension over an existing garage to an existing detached house in North Sheffield provides two additional bedrooms and included the conversion of an existing smaller bedroom into a toilet / shower room providing a balance of four good sized bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. The scheme is, in our opinion, very successful in no small part due to the quality of the brickwork achieved by the builder, Terry Else.

An extension to a barn conversion

This extension to a barn conversion provides a quality family living space including a spacious kitchen / dining room together with a galleried lounge area. The original barn conversion was also designed by ourselves for a previous owner. The extension directly reflects our lady client’s concept design brief, which included her own sketches.

Substantial detached house extension

This extension to the front and side of an existing stone built detached house more than doubles the original floor area and presents a classic double fronted elevation with the main entrance door well emphasised. The accommodation provided includes, at first floor level, four double bedrooms, two bathrooms, one en suite shower room and generously sized living room; dining room; kitchen; separate utility room and home office to the ground floor.

Detached garden building psychologists consulting room

This garden building was created to provide a psychologists consulting room in a peaceful environment. Our clients brief demanded a low carbon footprint which lead to this highly insulated timber framed building supported on timber piles with a green roof within a landscaped garden. Construction was carried out on site by a local joiner in a number of weeks rather than months.

A new roof containing bedrooms and a bathroom(s)

These roof space extensions to existing bungalows  entail a full reconstruction of the roof at a steeper pitch to raise the ridge height and thereby accommodate further bedrooms and a bathroom(s). This then makes the existing ground floor space available to provide an extra kitchen / dining / living rooms together with ancillary accommodation such as a study and / or a toilet / shower room.
